Dead or Alive is a video game franchise developed by Japanese video game developer Team Ninja, and owned by Tecmo. It focuses on fast-paced combat of hand-to-hand combat. The series also has a large female fan base due to the characters’ attractive looks and designs. The first title in the Dead or Alive series was released in 1996, and the series has since released multiple sequels and spin-offs, as well as ports to multiple platforms. The most recent game, Dead or Alive 6, was released in 2019. The game has sold over 10 million copies since its inception, and continues to be a popular fighting game franchise.
